Drinking Jamu is a great way to give your body a boost of goodness and it tastes delicious!
This traditional Indonesian health tonic has been used for over 1000 years. It has anti inflammatory properties and is packed with antioxidants. It's known for boosting the immune system, promoting good heart health, improving digestion, detoxifying for the liver and kidneys and general wellbeing.
There are a few variations to the recipe however this is my personal favourite. It can be served warm or cold, I like to drink it with equal parts sparking water and Jamu on ice in summer and warm in winter. Drink half a glass daily as a daily tonic.
Best of all it's easy to make.
This recipe lasts for a week in the fridge, enjoy!

The good news is there's no need to peel the ginger and turmeric!

Pour the mixture into a saucepan, once it comes to the boil reduce heat to simmer for 15 minutes. Add the honey and lime then stir well. Remover from heat and strain the mixture through a fine strainer. Pour into a glass jar or bottle, refrigerate once cooled.
